A download is a production checkpoint, not proof that a book is ready. Choose the file for its destination, then inspect the actual artifact outside the editor.

## Publish a public book page from the Publishing desk

Open your project’s Publishing desk and find Online book page. Enter the public title, author name, and description; select the chapters you want readers to see. Including available generated images is optional.

Choose Preview public copy. Read the selected chapters and check the images displayed in the preview. Confirm that you have permission to share them, then choose Publish book page. A verified email address is required.

Pages are unlisted by default: anyone with the link can read them, while search engines are asked not to index them. To make a page searchable, explicitly enable indexing before previewing. Searchable books need at least 300 words; that threshold does not guarantee quality or indexing.

Later manuscript edits remain private. Preview and publish an updated copy when you want the page to change. Unpublish page removes the hosted page and images; previously downloaded copies and search snippets may remain outside the service.

Public pages include only the chosen chapter text, public book details, and images shown in the preview. Research, source files, notes, and collaboration access stay private. Publishing this reading page does not submit your book to Amazon.

## Choose PDF, EPUB, DOCX, or a KDP ZIP

Current publishing downloads

| Download | Best for | Inspect after export |
| --- | --- | --- |
| PDF | Fixed-page review, direct delivery, printing tests, and layout-sensitive workbooks. | Page breaks, margins, image placement, headings, and small-screen readability. |
| EPUB | Reflowable reading in ebook apps and retailer preparation. | Table of contents, chapter navigation, text resizing, scene breaks, links, and images in more than one reader. |
| DOCX | Further editing, professional review, or a Word-based production handoff. | Heading styles, lists, spacing, tables, and any edits made after leaving the workspace. |
| KDP preparation ZIP | Keeping draft files, available cover art, metadata, checksums, and a review checklist together. | Every enclosed file plus the current requirements in your own KDP account. |

## Set front matter, formatting, and book metadata

The Publishing desk controls front matter, formatting, and KDP metadata. Add only details you can verify. Metadata can include title, subtitle, author, publisher, description, up to seven keywords, up to three categories, language, publication date, edition, and ISBN.

- **Front matter:** Review the title page, copyright, table of contents, dedication, and acknowledgements you choose to include.
- **Formatting:** Choose a trim preset, font family, size, line spacing, alignment, chapter starts, and page numbering.
- **Artwork:** Confirm the front cover and the latest image linked to each chapter are the assets you intend to export.
- **Readiness:** Treat warnings as a proofing list. A draft file can download before every publishing detail is complete.

## What the KDP preparation ZIP contains

The KDP preparation package is a local download. AI Ebook Generator does not sign in to Amazon, create a KDP account, upload a manuscript, set a price, submit the title for review, or guarantee acceptance.

The generated cover asset is front artwork only. A print edition may need a separate full wrap with back cover, spine, bleed, barcode space, and exact dimensions based on final page count and KDP specifications.

> **Check current platform rules:** Retailer intake rules change. Use the files as a starting point, then review Amazon KDP's current manuscript, cover, metadata, and content requirements before uploading.

## Check the exported book before publishing

Open DOCX in Word or another compatible editor, EPUB in more than one reading app, PDF at normal and enlarged zoom, and the final KDP files in KDP Previewer. Click the table of contents and links. Resize the text. Check images, blank pages, widows, headings, scene breaks, and the first and last page of every chapter.

- **Content check:** Confirm names, dates, claims, quotations, citations, and permissions.
- **Navigation check:** Use the table of contents and chapter links instead of only scrolling.
- **Visual check:** Inspect contrast, captions, image relevance, cropping, and text alternatives where the destination supports them.
- **Destination check:** Validate against the current rules of the retailer, client, email flow, or download page receiving the file.
